JOIN US for a special evening of discussion on campus…
The Socialist Alternative to the Profit System
Special Guest Speaker: Alan Maass, author of The Case for Socialism (Haymarket Books, 2005), frequent contributor to CounterPunch and editor of Socialist Worker and Socialist Worker Online.
Location: UIC-Taft Hall Room 219
826 S. Halsted Street
We live in a world where millions of children die each year because they lack food—while the rich get richer; a world where the living standards of workers and the poor continue to erode; a world threatened by environmental catastrophe; a world where war is used as a tool to increase the power and profits for a limited few. A socialist world is possible; a world in which people come before profit and working people control society democratically, putting the world’s resources to meeting human needs.
Co-sponsored by the UIC International Socialist Club and the Pilsen branch of the International Socialist Organization. For more information e-mail chicago_socialists@yahoo.com
